The Nvidia Shield Remote 2019 represents a clear improvement compared to its predecessors, especially for those who are already familiar with the previous Shield models. This controller is compatible with the 2015, 2017 and 2019 versions of Shield TV, provided that you updated to the last Shield experience.
One of the most remarkable characteristics is its ease of use in dark environments. When you take the remote control, the pimples light up automatically, which makes them easy to use without the need to light additional lights. In addition, it has a microphone button that allows you to access the Google assistant on your Android TV, offering the possibility of looking for films, emissions, YouTube videos, stock market courses or even check the journey time.
The controller offers large customization thanks to its configurable menu button with more than 25 options. You can configure actions such as launching your favorite application, activating the amplification of the AI or the mooding of sound, with up to three different types of actions: pressure, double pressure and long pressure.
Regarding control of the entertainment center, the SHIELD remote control is integrated into a blaster that allows you to manage the volume, the power supply or the input source. In addition, the Shield Remote application offers a function to locate the controller, thus avoiding losing it.
Connectivity is done via Bluetooth, which allows you to control the device even if it is not in direct view. The controller requires two AAA batteries, which are included in the packaging. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the controller is comfortable to hold and use for long periods.
