Oblivion Remastered is finally available, but be careful before buying

To put back Oblivion Up to date is a risky bet: how to sublimate a classic without betraying your soul? Bethesda and the Parisian virtuos studio obviously found the recipe, with a remaster that gives colors to Cyrodiil, without making a clean sweep of the past.

Cyrodiil as you have never seen it

First visual slap: Oblivion Remastered now runs under Unreal Engine 5. The open world wins in depth, the lighting is more natural, the textures explode in detail.

The graphic facelift is accompanied by a lot of work on the animation of the characters, the labial synchronization and the effects of light, finally giving Cyrodiil the case it deserved for almost two decades.

XXL content and refined gameplay

Bethesda did not do things by half: Oblivion Remastered embeds all the content of the time, extensions included (Knights of the Nine And Shivering Isles), as well as the small DLCs forgotten at the bottom of the trunk. But it is not just dusting: the gameplay was subtly modernized.

The interface was reviewed, a sprint system appears (it was time), and the progress draws from the side of Skyrim For a more fluid and current experience.

A massive adventure … but without a physical version or French dubbing

Big flat for French speakers: no dubbing in French. The voices remain exclusively in English, with however subtitles in French and in several other languages. Not ideal, but enough to enjoy the adventure.

Another small detail: no physical version on the horizon, the adventure is 100 % dematerialized, whatever the medium. Also, count all the same 120 GB of disk space to embark this revisited journey – not really light, but when you love, you do not count …

Last thing to know for PC players: Mods will unfortunately not be taken care of.

Two editions, three platforms, a (almost) uniform price

Oblivion Remastered is available in two editions, whatever the medium: the standard at € 49.99 and the Deluxe at € 59.99. The latter has a few digital treats: a set of exclusive armor, a digital artbook and the official soundtrack-enough to flatter collectors.

On the platform side, the game is available on PlayStation 5,, Xbox Series X | S and PC via Steam, without forgetting its direct integration into the Xbox Game Pass Ultimatewhich allows subscribers to play it for no additional cost. On Steam, the prices remain aligned with the consoles, but it will be necessary to do without any launch reduction.
