Oppo is back with a new wave of mid -range smartphones. The Chinese brand distinguished itself at the end of 2024 by the launch of its Find X8 Pro And continues its strategy to reconquer the European market using more affordable and stamped Reno smartphones. After the Reno 13 marketed at the beginning of 2024, the Reno 14s made their debut today.

Two smartphones make up the range: the Reno 14 and the Reno 14F, which both disembark this September 3. The F version, a little less well lotie, will be less largely marketed. So let’s focus more on its classic version.

The Oppo Reno 14 capitalizes on a refined design, but in the right line of the series 13 of the same brand. The device thus presents a box of 157.9 x 74.73 x 7.42 mm – The Reno play the card of finesse – and weighing 187 g, which remains suitable given its format. It aims to be solid thanks to an aluminum case which is better with shocks than that of the Reno 13, and displays IP66, IP68 and IP69 certifications, which means that it adapts both dust and water, even hot.

The Reno 14 screen keeps the 6.59 -inch diagonal seen on its predecessor. Its AMOLED slab (protected by a Gorilla Glass 7i window) presents a Full HD+definition, a refresh rate varying between 60 and 120 Hz and promises a maximum brightness of 1600 cd/m². As often at Oppo (and its brand Sister OnePlus), a GLOVE MODE is there, allowing to navigate the device, even when you wear gloves.

Focus on the photo and AI

The smartphone favors a mediatek chip, here the Dimensity 8350 already used within the Reno 13. Oppo accompanies it with 12 GB of RAM and a storage of 256 to 512 GB depending on the chosen version. If it is necessary to remember an improvement, it is to be found on the side of the battery increased to 6000 mAh with an 80 W load, but also of photography. The device adopts equipment inspired by the Reno 13 Pro, and not the Reno 13, since it includes a main module of 50 Mpx (Grand Angle), a second of 50 Mpx also (Telephoto X3.5) and a third of 8 Mpx (ultra-angle). The Reno 13 to which he succeeds is satisfied with a great angle and an ultra-angle.

The best is also to be noted on the software side. The Reno 14 runs on Android 15 with Coloros 15, and includes various AI functions, such as I mind Space (an information storage space organized by AI), a call translator, more classic instant translation functions and various photo editing options. If the Reno 14 costs 50 € more than its elder when it was launched, a price of € 649, it justifies it by its enriched software and photo equipment. It should also be noted that OPPO announces five years of updates and six security corrections.

The Reno 14F is very similar to the Reno 14, except that it adopts a 6.57 -inch screen, loses the telephoto lens of the Reno 14 and goes to a load at 45 W, as well as a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. its price is logically affected (€ 349).
