Rather discreet on the market for connected watches in recent years, Oppo had distinguished itself at the end of 2024 with a Watch X that was not lacking any assets. The tocante was betting, like the OnePlus Watch 2on a double architecture to ensure longer autonomy than ordinary devices under Wear OS. A few months later, the Chinese brand does it again and takes up a similar formula with the Watch X2 … which recalls the very recent OnePlus Watch 3.

The watch sports a large box of 46.6 x 47.6 x 11.75 mm housing a 1.5 inch Amoled screen (466 x 466 pixels) promising a brightness that can rise to 2200 cd/m². If the body of the watch is certified MIL-STD-810H (military protection standard) and IP68 (water resistance), the window is also announced robust, thanks to its sapphire window. This case houses a plethora of sensors: there is a double-band GPS, cardiofrequency meter, optical oxymmetry sensor of pulse and accelerometer/gyroscope, useful for monitoring physical activity. Oppo adds an ECG sensor, which was lacking in Watch X, but also a temperature sensor: the health data that Watch X2 is able to raise is therefore more complete.

More health and more endurance

The watch also put on two chips (Snapdragon W5 and BS2800BP), one allowing to perform the most complex tasks, the other the basic actions of everyday life. This double architecture runs Wear OS 5, but also, in the background, RTOS (for said simplest tasks), to better limit its energy consumption. Oppo does not stick to this formula to optimize the autonomy of Watch X2: the manufacturer The team of an LTPO screen that can contain its 1 Hz refresh rate, but also a “carbon silicon battery, technology that is increasingly found in the universe of the smartphone, but rarely mentioned in that of smartwatches. Concretely From 648 mAh, even though the first Watch X was content with 500 mAh.

These improvements are not without influencing the price of the device. Count a price of € 379, € 50 more than Watch X when it was launched, for availability from June 2, but also 30 € more than the OnePlus Watch 3.
