Philips strikes hard with his variety baristina, the double tank coffee machine that could steal the capsules
A year ago, Philips surprised the coffee grain market with the launch of the Baristinaa percolator machine with innovative concept. With this model, the brand clearly displayed its intention to seduce the fans of coffee in capsules by offering them an alternative around freshly ground coffee, while promoting the experience of the Barista gesture. Today, Philips returns with a new version of its machine: Baristina Variety, which is mainly distinguished by the addition of an additional grain tray.
Two grain trays, otherwise nothing
Very visually and technically close to the first version, Baristina Variety introduces an innovation called Bean Swap. It is a grain tray system divided into two compartments of 115 grams each. Thanks to a wheel placed on the machine, the user can select one or the other of the compartments, thus making it possible to alternate between different types of grains: soft or full -bodied Arabica, robusta or decaffeinated coffee, depending on the preferences. This possibility can be interesting for users who consume several coffee profiles during the day or for those who wish to vary the aromas regularly.
The double tank also offers the possibility of mixing two types of grains to create personalized assemblies, which strengthens the experiential aspect of use. For Philips, this novelty meets the expectations of capsule machine users, 82 % of which declare consuming several types of capsules each day. The manufacturer thus hopes to convince them to move on to a solution based on fresh grain.
Unchanged features
Apart from this novelty, Baristina Variety retains the characteristics that made the success of the first model. We find the compact format, the sleek design, as well as the basic recipes: Espresso, Lungo or extra full -bodied version, with two levels of intensity available.

The process remains automated: a button triggers coffee grinding, then the grind is automatically packed in the filter holder. The latter then slides laterally to place itself under the infusion unit, where the water is injected with a pressure of 16 bars. The whole thing aims to offer a Barista quality result, without complex manual intervention.
A very accessible coffee machine
The marketing of Baristina variety is scheduled for August 2025. It will be offered at a rate of less than 350 euros. This price positioning is notable insofar as machines equipped with multiple grain trays are generally more bulky and much more expensive. With this model, Philips thus wishes to democratize access to a multi -purpose percolator machine, retaining a format adapted to domestic use.
