Project Moohan: Samsung officially invites you to discover its mixed reality headset powered by AI

In December 2024, Samsung revealed the existence and look of Project Moohan. Since then, the manufacturer has been quite discreet around its first mixed reality headset powered by the new Android XR (for “eXtended reality”) and clearly designed to compete with the Apple Vision Pro. But the wait is soon coming to an end, since Samsung has just revealed a date for a proper presentation, and probably a marketing at the same time.
Project Moohan is coming very soon
It is therefore on October 21, 2025 during an event broadcast online that the latest information on this helmet will be released, which still lacks a real name. Rumors point to a classic but consistent “Galaxy XR”.

Designed in partnership with Google and Qualcomm, Project Moohan fully embraces the technological fad of the moment: AI. Android
In the headset, a Snapdragon XR2+ chip is responsible for running the experience. Two 4K micro-LED screens should take care of the display, for a total of 29 million pixels (compared to 23 million for competitors Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3). A battery of sensors will obviously be there, as will four cameras inside to track eye movement.
To finish on the (solid) rumors while waiting for the Samsung event, the Galaxy XR should only weigh 545 grams, but also have an autonomy limited to 2 hours in normal use (or 2h30 for video playback). It remains above all to know the price that will be demanded, and whether Samsung will offer something more affordable than the competition.
