For good power in a large comfortable format, the multimedia portable PC Asus Vivobook 18 S1807HA-S8109W offers an interesting solution with its large amount of RAM of 32 GB, its Hawk Point Refresh AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor with Radeon 780M graphics module but also its fast SSD storage with a high capacity of 1 TB which reinforces its responsiveness. The Asus Vivobook S1807HA-S8109W faces the competition
The Asus Vivobook S1807HA-S8109W is currently available at Darty and the Fnac. It offers a configuration/price ratio interesting for its category where it is one of the only to offer such a recent and efficient processor with such a high frequency screen as well as such a large amount of RAM in such a large (despite all thin) format.
At the moment the Asus Vivobook S1807HA-DRS8112W with similar configuration is cheaper.

Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus Vivobook S1807HA-S8109W
With its relatively thin Quiet Blue design despite its large 18-inch format, this robust laptop, due to its compliance with the American military resistance standard MIL-STD-810H, has an appearance that is both original and discreet.
The connectivity integrated into this laptop PC is good, including 1 USB-C in addition to 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) useful for connecting several peripherals, an audio port, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E ax modules for communicating and connecting remotely wirelessly, or even a practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or monitor for example.
It’s a shame, however, that the USB speed is standard.
Biometric authentication by facial recognition is possible under this laptop through the infrared technology of the webcam and the Windows Hello functionality.
Fortunately for those who want to protect their privacy, they can shutter the webcam when not in use.
The chiclet keyboard has a backlighting system.
You can activate it whenever you need to better distinguish the keys.

The Full HD screen, whose 16/10th format is higher than the classic 16/9th, displays more elements in height, is adorned with a refresh rate of 144Hz giving it better fluidity in use than a standard 60Hz panel.
Furthermore, the screen reproduces colors more faithfully than average while offering significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles thanks to its sRGB and IPS characteristics.
As it is anti-reflective, the screen is more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors) while being more restful for the eyes over a long period of time.
Performance, autonomy of the Asus Vivobook S1807HA-S8109W
The Asus Vivobook S1807HA-S8109W is aimed at those looking for a thin and autonomous large format laptop PC with high performance in terms of multimedia-oriented processor.
Very comfortable thanks to its large 18-inch format, this computer is not the most portable by nature. However, it is more easily transportable than a desktop PC. And its autonomy, which is around 7 hours on battery in light use, may interest some who wish to use their computer for several hours away from a power outlet.
Despite this appreciable autonomy, this laptop PC is suitable for multimedia processing that requires RAM and CPU resources using multi-core, such as video editing or photo editing.
In fact it is built around a large quantity of 32 GB RAM – twice more than the average – which supports a processor with 8 cores in addition to the Radeon 780M graphics module, the recent AMD Ryzen 7 260 but based on an old architecture Hawk Point Refresh.
Demanding users will be delighted with the good overall power delivered by this duo who are comfortable multitasking, especially as they are supported in their tasks by SSD storage clearly reinforcing responsiveness and fluidity.
The SSD helps ensure that processing is carried out quickly, just like starts/stops, launching applications or even arriving on online game cards.
Despite the absence of a dedicated onboard graphics card, you can play light games but also watch photos and HD videos thanks to the Radeon 780M.

Coming back to the SSD which offers high speed in addition to silent, robust and energy-efficient operation, here it offers a high capacity of 1000 GB.
Quantities of files and software can therefore find a peaceful place there.
As for heating and noise, expect their presence when this large format multimedia-oriented laptop PC is pushed hard (e.g. processing).
If necessary, we can add a ventilated support to limit its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
