The Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405CA-DRFQL554X faces the competition
The Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405CA-DRFQL554X is currently displayed in promotion at the house of Darty and the Fnac. It positions itself as one of the only ones in its category to adopt Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt connectivity in addition to a numeric keypad module as well as an equally recent and powerful AI-oriented processor, all under the Pro system, but meets more affordable competitors.

Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405CA-DRFQL554X
Its compact, thin and light foggy silver aluminum design certified to the American MIL-STD-810H durability standard gives this laptop PC, which can be recharged to 60% in 49 minutes, a decidedly elegant appearance.
This Ultrabook runs Windows 11 Pro, an operating system that is more complete than classic Windows 11 due to its advanced network management and security tools like BitLocker.
You can authenticate in a secure biometric way by facial recognition using the infrared technology of the webcam.
When you are not using the webcam, you can hide it behind a shutter, which is reassuring for preserving privacy.
This laptop offers good connectivity including the latest generation Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 wireless modules to communicate and connect remotely, an audio port, an HDMI video output thanks to which it can easily be connected to a monitor or projector for example but also 3 USB including 2 very fast USB-C Thunderbolt 4 practical for connecting peripherals such as a headset, a mouse, a printer or external storage.
A backlighting system is of course fitted to the chiclet keyboard, which is very practical to activate whenever you need to better discern the keys.
As the format here is less than 15 inches, the space required to accommodate a physical numeric keypad is insufficient.
However, Asus offers its NumberPad technology here. Consequently, when you want to easily enter numbers, you can activate it to see a NumPad touchscreen numeric keypad appear instead of the touchpad.

Thanks to its OLED technology, the screen reproduces colors much more faithfully than average by covering the DCI-P3 spectrum while ensuring very deep blacks, significant viewing angles both horizontally and vertically as well as very low latency providing great responsiveness.
The OLED is, as always, associated with a glossy coating which gives punch to the colors but is subject to reflections in a bright environment (eg outside).
In a 16/10th format displaying more vertical elements than the classic 16/9th, the screen adopts a Full HD definition which will disappoint fans of High Definition content.
Performance, battery life of the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405CA-DRFQL554X
The Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405CA-DRFQL554X is a compact portable High Fidelity laptop that performs well in everyday use, is AI-oriented, and equipped with recent technology.
Comfortable in everyday use thanks to its 16 GB of RAM and its latest generation Core Ultra 5 225H processor integrating 14 hybrid cores in addition to the Intel Arc 130T graphics module, this Ultrabook is suitable for web browsing, office automation, multitasking, for watching photos and HD videos or even game content.
The Core Ultra 5 225H offers specific capabilities for Artificial Intelligence thanks to its architecture Arrow Lake. More efficient than a low-consumption model, it reveals its potential in areas that are a little demanding in processor resources using multi-cores and AI, such as photo editing or video editing.
However, for work requiring processor and RAM resources, we should opt instead for a PC based on a recent processor with a greater number of efficient cores as well as a larger quantity of RAM.
In any case, thanks to its great speed, the silent, energy-efficient SSD clearly contributes to the good responsiveness and fluidity of multimedia processing and, more generally, overall operation.
Starting/stopping, launching software or even arriving at the online game cards is therefore done quickly.
Asus opts for a classic solution here: a 512 GB SSD to install and store a lot of applications and files. We could have hoped for better given the positioning of this laptop.
That being said, many of the – clearly – more expensive configurations also make do with 512 GB.
And then if you need additional space, you can always connect an external storage device, preferably USB 3.2/Thunderbolt/USB-C type to benefit from fast transfers and failing that USB 3.0 rather than USB 2.0.
Finally, autonomy is clearly a major asset of this AI-oriented High Fidelity Ultrabook since it is around 13 hours of battery operation in light use, which will be appreciated by nomads like some wishing to equip themselves with a student laptop.
When it is heavily used (e.g. treatments), expect the temperatures and noise generated by this laptop to increase, in which case it can be coupled to a ventilated support to limit heating (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
