PS Plus: May 2025 games

After A month of April particularly generous in blockbustersSony returns in May with a selection of games PlayStation Plus More picked up, but far from being bland. Only three games this month, but three very distinct proposals, thoughts for radically opposed profiles: the brutal survival lover, the obsessed with improbable combos, and the nostalgic of bloody pixel. A selection which, without drum or magic wand, still deserves to be stopped.

Here are the free games of the PlayStation more in May 2025

  • ARK: Survival Ascended – PS5 – May 6, 2025
  • BALTRO – PS5, PS4 – May 6, 2025
  • Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – PS5, PS4 – May 6, 2025

We start with Ark: Survival Ascended, which returns to a version entirely rebuilt under Unreal Engine 5. Behind this technical lift, the same DNA: an island, prehistoric creatures to tame, bases to build and alliances to be spared – or betray. The multiplayer to 70 remains the game, the screen also shared (thing that has become rare), and the whole gains frankly in readability and fluidity. For those who have never dared to get started in Ark, or who dropped the case on the way, it is probably the best front door.

Halfway between the card game and the hallucinatory trip, Balatro is one of those playful UFOs that we first look at distrust … before sinking. The principle is simple: playing poker, but with broken rules, overpowered jokers and an avalanche of possible combos. Each run becomes a delicious puzzle, where absurd synergies are tested in the hope of crossing a new ante. The graphic style is spartan, but the gameplay is a hard drug. Ideal for quick sessions – or white nights.

We end with the noisy of the band: Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. Here, no subtlety. You play a space navy, your bolter is the size of a Norman wardrobe, and your lens is simple: to purge heretics with pixels. The game pays a detour tribute to the FPS of the 90s, with a deliberately dated artistic direction, a frantic pace and liters of digital blood. It is enjoyable, sometimes a little rough, but perfectly assumed. If you grew up with Doom, you will be at home.

The three titles will be available from May 6 to June 2, 2025 for all PS plus subscribers (Essential, Extra, Premium). And as always, remember to add the April Games to your library before they disappear.
