Qualcomm Snapdragon: Adobe launches a native version of Premiere Pro for ARM laptops

Better late than never, but a little more than a year after the arrival of the first Qualcomm Snapdragon laptops on the market, Adobe (finally) sets up at Arm time on Windows. Native versions of this architecture are available in public beta For the edition and Video Export Premiere Pro, Media Encoder and After Effects, but also the audio audio publishing software.

Finally, crashes on first pro for all

Note for any interested parties that if the applications in themselves work natively in ARM, they lack a notable number of features: no question of taking advantage of third-party extensions on first pro and after effects, for example, or even export in the HEVC and H.264 codec in MP4 format. In short, a beautiful start, but which still requires several updates to finish at the X64 versions.

The initiative is appreciable, so much even it arrives late. A responsiveness which is explained by the poor market share of ARM laptops (excluding Apple), but also by the limits of the three Qualcomm Snapdragon (XMore and elite) for any task that exceeds simple office use. If the performances of these ARM versions of the Adobe suite will be better than the emulation of X86 applications, their use will be imagined, only punctual.
