Red by SFR vs B & You: which 20 GB package to choose?

A 20 GB package is perfectly suited to those who use their mobile in a moderate way, without wanting to pay for unused gigas. On this market, two operators are currently in competition: Red by SFR offers 20 GB for only € 4.99 per month, while B & You has a slightly higher price of € 5.99. But beyond the price, several criteria can tip the scales. Network, roaming, activation costs … We take stock of this comparison.
Red by SFR: 20 GB at € 4.99 per month, one of the cheapest on the market
With its € 4.99 package, Red by SFR offers one of the most affordable offers of the moment. With it, you benefit from 20 GB of data in France on 4G and 5G networks of SFR, with 13 GB usable in roaming from Europe and the DOM. Optionally, you can unlock additional 40 GB from these areas (including 20 GB in the United States and Canada) for € 5 per month. Calls, SMS and MMS are unlimited in France and from the EU/DOM. The offer is without obligation and compatible with ESIM, but plan € 10 for the SIM card at activation.

Which 20 GB package to choose?
The two packages each offer 20 GB of data to use in mainland France, but on different conditions. If you are looking above all to reduce your monthly bill, the RED offer to € 4.99 per month is the most economical in the long term. On the other hand, B & You is more advantageous to activation thanks to a SIM card invoiced only € 1, against € 10 at Red.
On the content side, the main difference is played on the data available in roaming from Europe and the French overseas departments. Red by SFR includes 13 GB in its basic offer, while B & You offers 16 GB. The gap is light, but can make the difference if you travel often. Note, however, that Red makes it possible to extend this envelope to 40 GB for 5 € more per month, including 20 GB usable from the United States and Canada-a significant asset for globetrotters.
Finally, the two packages are based on different mobile networks: RED relies on the infrastructure of SFR, while B & You operates that of Bouygues Telecom. Before you decide, the most judicious is to consult the cover cards in order to choose the operator that offers the best reception in your area.
Our verdict: The two packages are largely equal, but respond to different priorities. If your goal is to pay as little as possible each month, Red by SFR wins with its ultra-competitive rate. On the other hand, B & You seduces with its 16 GB in roaming and its very low activation costs.
