
Ricoh Theta A1, a 360 ° 8K camera cut for pros and extreme conditions

Ricoh Imaging has been 360 ° cameras since 2013. This is the TheTA range! Some TheTA models are designed for the Grand Public and content creators. Others are intended for professional uses in various fields such as construction, industry or even real estate. This is the case with this new Theta A1.
A reinforced model
The particularity of this new model is that it is particularly protected and therefore ready to face the worst shots. It is a working tool designed for the terrain that is not afraid to fall, take the rain or dust (IP64), or to face the hot weather: a real plus for professionals who evolve in the end. In addition, this new camera incorporates a long lending battery of 1500 mAh and an internal memory of more than 27 GB. In addition Ricoh, provides technological opening by providing public APIs SDK and facilitating interoperability with the main business software. Each company can therefore easily integrate the TheTA A1 into its own tools or workflows.
The operating principle is relatively simple. A Ricoh Theta camera works thanks to two ultra-angle objectives positioned back to back. Each lens captures an image covering a field of vision of 180 °, which allows, once the two images combined by a digital assembly technique (Stitching), to obtain a photo or a spherical video covering the entire 360 ° environment.
On the new TheTA A1, there is a double 1/2 “type sensors of 48 megapixels associated with large-angle optics composed of 7 elements and offering an opening of F2.4. It is therefore able to take photos up to 60 megapixels. For video, it can reach 8K 10p or 4K 30p. The camera is connected in Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and compatible with the Ricoh360 application.
Price and availability
The Ricoh360 Theta A1 therefore joins the models X And Z1. It takes up the design of the Z1 and the technical skeleton of the X. It will be possible to order it in the month of June, but the camera will be available from September at a price of € 799 excl.
