Exit the angular stems and light bar

Samsung does not seem decided to rely on its achievements, unlike Apple whose AirPods Pro 3 evolve timidly. The current generation (Galaxy Buds3 And Buds3 Pro) had already shaken up the codes with its angular stems and their distinctive connecting light bar. The fourth generation is in turn moving towards a significant aesthetic overhaul.

According to the available animation featuring the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, the headphones abandon the angular stems of their predecessors, and therefore their triangular ends. The light bar also disappears. As a replacement, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro adopt flatter stems with rounded ends. Their upper part seems slightly curved at the junction with the shells.

A more durable housing that can be placed horizontally

The charging case is also changing radically. Now laying horizontally, the headphones appear lying inside. They should therefore be easier to grab and place inside, even if it means sacrificing a little compactness. The cover remains translucent, in order to check the presence of the headphones within the case at a glance, while we still find the physical pairing button. Alongside the latter, we can detect what looks like a new speaker dedicated to sound alerts and location. The case has a 515 mAh battery, a slightly higher capacity than that of the Galaxy Buds3 Pro.

Beyond the material aspect, AndroidAuthority also shared screenshots of the dedicated Android app. These reveal the integration of sensors coupled with AI allowing advanced control of the headphones through head gestures. In addition to managing calls, the user will be able to respond to messages, control playback, request voice playback of notifications or even invoke the assistant without touching their smartphone.

The application also confirms the arrival of 360° audio recording, as well as an adjustment of the intensity of noise reduction on four levels. Among the already known functions, we find the customization of haptic controls, or even an adaptive ANC system.

Considering Samsung’s launch strategy for older lineups, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Buds4 are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026, along with the Galaxy S26 smartphones.
