Samsung Galaxy: new update approaching for December, priority on security
One UI 8.5 is long overduejust like the Galaxy S26both scheduled for the beginning of 2026. The time has therefore come for security updates, and the month of December 2025 promises a nice burst of fixes on Samsung smartphones – whether for Android or One UI.
What’s new in the December 2025 update on Samsung Galaxy
After the November 2025 security patchit is no surprise that it is time to move on to the current month: December 2025. Already on the lookout, Samsung detailed on its site the fixes made to its Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
For this update, we are first treated to 57 vulnerabilities filled by Google concerning Android, six of which are considered critical, while the rest are considered high risk. The South Korean firm adds 11 security patches linked to its ecosystem.
Some of these issues could cause the system to read or write information outside of its allocated memory. Thus, this could allow hackers to see private data or modify settings without the user realizing it (fingerprints, bootloader, image codecs, etc.).
The rollout of the December 2025 security patch is expected to begin in the coming days, starting with the most recent high-end models before arriving on older, cheaper Galaxy models.
