The test:

Design: Simple like Bonjouren as long as entry -level representative in the AOC catalog, Q27G4X is a simple and refined design monitor, calling on cheap materials. Classic, it remains nonetheless modern with a fine frame on three sides, a slightly thicker lower border, and a central support which does not occupy too much space on the desk.

Source: Matthieu legougemalgré its economic design, the AOC screen uses plastics that seem robust at first. The monitor is easily handled, it is rather light, and there is no crack by pressing the plastics. In short, we are faced with a good -made screen given the price requested.

Connector connectors, there is no crowd. AOC is satisfied with the minimum union by offering two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 1.4 DisplayPort and a 3.5 mm mini-jack output, no more. This should nevertheless be sufficient for a majority of players who do not specifically experience the need to connect something other than their game computer. Note that the screen is not equipped with speakers.

Support l'ergonomie is not so bad for a low -budget instructor. The central support provides completely correct stability to the monitor, while offering enough settings to provide a little flexibility to use.

While occupying a limited space on the desk (about 20 cm deep), it makes it possible to include, front and rear, rotation, adjustment on the height (with 13 cm of amplitude), but also the passage in portrait mode. The foot includes a system to pass the cables, not always very practical despite everything since the opening is offset to the right, as you can see on our images.

Source: Matthieu Legougeimage: A good image overall, which is however lacking accuracy generally expects not very brilliant results when we pass our probe on entry -level monitors. Fortunately, this is less and less the case with many references, manufacturers being aware that providing a properly calibrated image still has great importance.

The AOC Q27G4X obviously has a few weaknesses, with a slightly too hot color temperature and a red shade visible on the screen, or even a gamma curve which has a little trouble being connected with the reference curve, leading to gray which appear darker than they should be. Note that our measurements were made with the default image mode, that is to say without activating the Gaming mode and its “Racing”, “FPS”, “RTS”, etc. options, etc.

If it is generally lacking in accuracy, we still appreciate a completely correct image, in bright colors, all with a good contrast for an IPS slab since the rate is here 1221: 1. Admittedly, the slabs are doing better (let's not talk about the OLED), we have nevertheless already seen well worse contrast on IPS slabs at the entry level like this.

The brightness remains limited, to 367 cd/m² in this image mode with an SDR signal. However, it is enough, unless you are directly back to a south -facing window, since the anti -reflective filter plays its role well and properly dilutes the direct reflections.

Our measures show some colorimetric drifts that remain contained. Overall, the colors are respected with an average delta e of 3.42. The screen also makes much better once an HDR signal detected. The medium delta e then increases to 2.09, no color shows chromatic drifts this time, apart from that observed on white.

Failing to offer a backlight managed by zones and sufficient brightness, this screen offers HDR support which does not have an exceptional interest. Admittedly, we appreciate being able to enjoy HDR. The light gain is still notable with a luminous peak measured at 420 cd/m² and a straightened curve from 50 % luminance.

Source: Matthieu Legougeen In addition, there is an interesting colorimetric coverage in the DCI-P3 space, with 93 %. Naturally, the space Rec. 2020 is only 69 %covered, which is already not bad. Last point that can cool, that of the slab uniformity. The Edge-Led backlight which equips this monitor shows some limits to display homogeneous shades on all the surface of the screen, it is notably noted at the four corners of the slab with certain drifts compared to the center.

Source: Matthieu Legougeenfin, if there is a particularly appreciable thing with this screen, it is good to take advantage of a QHD definition in 27 inches, where many manufacturers are still content to get out of affordable models in FHD definition on this same diagonal. The result is a finer image, pleasant in all situations, even for simple office activities.

Source: Matthieu Legougeun Fluid and without latency, not without ghostingen which concerns performance, the Q27G4X provides solid services, always taking into account its sale price and comparing it to other references to similar characteristics, often more expensive. Its QHD definition and its maximum cooling rate of 180 Hz intends to be used with mid -range graphics cards, with which it should not be difficult to run a majority of games in 1440p with constant fluidity.

Source: Matthieu Legougeaoc announces response times enough to offer a qualitative gaming experience. In fact, we sometimes perceived the effects of ghosting on certain competitive games, especially during our tests on Forza Horizon And Apex Legends. The overdrive of the monitor not being activated by default, it is necessary to browse the OSD and select the options weak Or mediumTo reduce ghosting.

The result is not perfect in both cases, the ghost image effect on the contours of moving objects is however better mastered by selecting one of these options than leaving the overdrive deactivated. However, we advise you not to opt for the option string which this time reveals the reverse ghosting.

Source: Matthieu LEGOUGUEUS were pleasantly surprised to note that the Input LAG, the latency between an action and its repercussions on the screen, is at a really low level with only 11.3 ms. This value corresponds to less than a delay image compared to a signal at 60 Hz, which means that you should never feel the slightest latency with this monitor, even at 180 Hz! Be careful to take care that the option Low input lag be activated in the OSD.
