Shōgun (Disney+): season 2 is becoming clearer with the return of a key character

The return of Blackthorne

Season 2 of Shōgun Will be marked by the return of Hiroyuki Sanada in the role of Lord Yoshii Toranaga, but he will not be the only actor of season 1 to return to the series: Cosmo Jarvis will also return in the guise of the English captain John Blackthorne.

A first synopsis explains that these new episodes will tell “The rest of the adventures of these two men from different backgrounds whose destinies are inextricably linked.”

As a reminder, in season 1, the Lord Toranaga were in the bitch with his enemies on the Council of Regents. FX also announced that season 2 of Shōgun will take place 10 years after the events of the first season.

The showrunners of the series, Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks recently finalized the intrigue with their team of writers, and this time it is an original story, even if they drew some elements and characters from the novel Shōgun by James Clavell who had not been exploited in the first season.
