Sirui joins the L-Mount Alliance and launches an 85mm F1.4 Autofocus for full-format hybrids
We are talking more and more often manufacturers of Chinese compatible optics. They develop at an impressive speed of modern photo objectives ranges, provided with autofocus, intended for hybrids and in the main frames on the market. Until now, the majority of these manufacturers covered the open frames and therefore the Sony E mount, the Fujifilm X mount and more recently the Nikon Z frame. Today, one of them wants to go further and explore a new market with the L.

A new ally
Sirui has therefore just announced its entry into the L-Mount Alliance, which brings together major actors of optics and photo/video boxes. This alliance was initially created in 2018 by Leica, Panasonic and Sigma. The idea of these manufacturers is to develop a full range of products, optics and boxes, around a unique mount, the L. sudden mount, for example, users of full -format lumix hybrids, like the new S1rii or the S5ii Light optics, Sigma optics can also be used and why not Leica optics. The same goes for future users of the new Sigma BF.

Since then, the alliance has extended and has seen new actors arrive such as, for example, DJI or Blackmagic Design. The arrival of Sirui is therefore excellent news for all users of L -mount that will have even more optical choices.

To inaugurate this new collaboration, the Chinese manufacturer also announces the arrival of its very first Optics in mount L which is none other than the 85 mm F1.4 Aurora. As a reminder, this objective, announced last November and already declined in Sony E mount, Fujifilm X and Nikon Z, has an optical formula composed of 14 lenses divided into 9 groups, with 2 ED glasses with low dispersion, 3 glasses with high refraction index and an aspherical lens.
Price and competition
Its price should naturally be aligned with that of other frames, namely around € 650. This objective will therefore compete with the Sigma 85 mm F1.4 DG DN | Art offered at a price of € 1,100.
