Sony revived the QD-Oled in 2025, why the Bravia 8 II will dethrone the A95L this year

The Japanese thus announces a 50 % superior brightness in Bravia 8 and 25 % greater than that of the A95L. If these figures were proven, we should therefore enjoy a light peak of around 1600-1700 CD/m². A sympathetic value, but quite far from LG G5 And Samsung S95F that we have just tested and which reach 2300 and 2100 CD/m² respectively.
We therefore hope that the figures will be better than expected, otherwise the Bravia 8 II would be lagging behind compared to the competition on this point. That said, the Bravia 9 had reserved us a good surprise with a much more important luminous peak than announced. Case to follow, therefore.
The XR processor to improve the rendering
To support this QD-Oled slab, Sony is betting on its latest AI XR processor, capable of carefully analyzing each scene before optimizing each element (color, contrast, sharpness, etc.). Knowing that the fine tuning Slabs is generally a manufacturer's strength, we hope that this Bravia 8 II will take advantage of it.
The brand also highlights the presence of its XR Triluminos Max technology, which should grant extended colorimetric coverage. Quite logical since there has indeed been a leap forward since 2023 on the QD-Oled slabs of Samsung, supplier of Sony.

Google TV and a good audio system on the program
Bravia 8 II works under Google TV with its complete interface and many apps. Video game enthusiasts are not to be outdone: the TV supports 4K at 120 Hz, the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and the Allm (Auto Low Latency Mode). Unfortunately, it will still be necessary to deal with two HDMI 2.1 ports only this year, while most manufacturers have gone to four.
