Stranger Things season 5: we finally know the true length of the first episodes
You may have seen publications on social networks claiming that the episodes of season 5 of Stranger Things would last on average two hours each, or more. This may have ended up infuriating one of the show’s creators, Ross Duffer, who set the record straight via Instagramat least regarding Volume 1 of this final season.
A not-so-long first part of the season
The first burst of episodes of season 5 of Stranger Things will arrive on Netflix on November 27 with four new episodes of which we now know the true duration.

Ross Duffer, co-creator of the show with his brother Matt, indicated in a video posted on Instagram that this Volume 1 is far from beating the records of previous seasons of the series:
- Episode 1: Rescue Mission – 1 hour and 8 minutes
- Episode 2: The disappearance of ??? – 54 minutes
- Episode 3: The Trap – 1 hour and 6 minutes
- Episode 4: Witchcraft – 1 hour and 23 minutes
For comparison, the episodes of season 4 were almost all around 90 minutes, with a final episode even lasting up to 2h22m, so for the moment season 5 tends to slow down the pace.

That said, we do not yet know how long Volumes 2 and 3 will last. Three new episodes arrive on Netflix on December 26, followed by the final episode of the series on January 1. And given this chaptered broadcast, we would not be surprised if the last parts of the series turn out to be the longest.
While waiting to find out more, head to Netflix on November 27 for the beginning of the end of Stranger Things.
