Switch 2: Nintendo does not surprise, but remains an goldsmith of the video game

Be careful, we arrive at its ends fairly quickly, but all of this is far from being fun. We would have liked something a little less serious, with the characters of Nintendo perhaps, who would have helped us to configure the console or find our accounts. The implementation of parental control with Bowser and his offspring proves that Nintendo can do this kind of thing. That said, the setting is very simple.

No surprise on the form, not much more on the bottom …

We started our adventure in nomadic mode, that is to say the console out of its dock. The Switch 2 is heavier than its elder (537 g against 398 g) and larger (27.5 x 11.5 cm against 24 x 10 cm). But unless you take one, then the other in hand, the difference does not really jump into the eyes. The handling is exactly the same: the sticks may have seemed to us a bit less loose on the newcomer. Above all, the Switch 2 shell is less slippery and the softer rubber for a more pleasant feeling.

The Switch 2 home page is exactly the same as that of the Switch. The only difference between the two bones is the presence of the Game Cat key in the lower bar. Apart from this, regulars will be in conquered countries and will find their marks instantly. Big has kept the famous big tiles to choose your game, nothing new under the sun!

After this first successful experience, we wanted to connect the Switch 2 to a television and so we had to install the dock. First surprise, the rear cover, which hides the three sockets (for an ethernet cable, HDMI and power supply), is completely removable. This was not the case on the dock of the first switch. We carry out the connections without difficulty, except the length of the power cable a little short and which requires installing the console not too far from a power outlet. Fortunately, we can change cords.

In Docké mode on a beautiful television, the experience inevitably takes on another dimension. The game seemed to us a little prettier and fluid, perhaps because the small size of the screen of the portable mode console prevented us from discerning the details. The fact remains that, for the nomadic or at home game, the Switch 2 holds all its promises … for the moment.
