Take advantage of YouTube without Google account? It is possible thanks to this free and open source extension
As the expression wants, not all heroes carry a cape. Perhaps the developer Abhisheky495 has one, but that is not the subject. The latter, responsible for the Localtube Manager extension, has gone to Reddit to make an ad: it is now free and open source. Good news in a context where the will of many Internet users to “degooglify” their online life has never been so strong.
YouTube without google, it’s possible
Previously usable against the purchase of a license, Localtube Manager can now be used without spending a penny. Why this change? Because the payment phase was too complex to the taste of the creator, which preferred to simplify it all by choosing free.

Localtube Manager allows you to use the central functionality of YouTube without connecting to a Google account. It is thus possible to like videos, subscribe to channels or even record YouTube playlists or create locals. Everything is saved locally in the browser and nothing is sent to Google.

It is also possible to import and very simply export your data to keep your actions from one machine to another. Unfortunately impossible to import data from a Google account or a third -party service linked to YouTube like Newpipe. The developer indicates that he will try to remedy this in the future.
Localtube Manager also does not serve as an advertising blocker. However, the solution remains a good way to enjoy Youtube while very strongly reducing its dependence to Google.

To download and install Localtube Manager, head to official websiteTHE GitHub deposit or the Chrome or Firefox extension blind (including on Android).
Once it is done, a dashboard (from the extension button or in a tab) includes in different menus the loved videos, subscriptions and playlists. All you have to do is use YouTube as usual, but without recommendations, notifications and data sent to Google.
