Tesla can no longer sell this model Y in Europe: here is the reason for this possibly final decision

Inevitably, Tesla finds herself in a complicated situation which blocks the sale of new existing stocks as identified with our colleaguesAuto Plus. This is the consequence of the new Brussels requirements for automotive security.

The Y “phase 1” model is no longer harmful in Europe
Reinforced standards relate to three very important technical elements:
- The steering column must have increased mechanical resistance and better energy absorption during frontal impacts.
- The anchoring points of safety belts now meet new standards of solidity and geometry.
- And finally, low-voltage electrical systems require additional protections against short circuits, water infiltration or fire departures.
The other consequence of this regulatory change is that orders that took place before September 1 are postponed to the 15th of the same month, at the earliest. Waiting times are therefore lengthening for European buyers.
According to MobiwisyTesla tries to obtain an approval extension to, at a minimum, sell the remaining stocks since this model completely respected the standards in force in its design. Which is no longer the case today.
If this request is refused, the American manufacturer would end up with a considerable stock of unsold electric vehicles in Europe.
In short, a very problematic situation then that the company continues to sink into the abyss. And this is not the first time that the Model has undergone disturbances in Europe. Delivery delays took place for the new Model Y because the ecological bonus took a long time before being applicable.
