In 2024 and 2025, Tesla had to straighten the bar. But two weeks before closing his quarter, the electric giant is in an uninvable position: more stocks that he cannot sell it, parking lots rented in emergency across the country, and sales that retreat almost everywhere. Even in the United States, the last still standing bastion, signals are red.
Tesla overflows with unsold cars in the United States
It is an image that says a lot: hundreds of tesla stored online in the parking lot of a half -demolished shopping center, in Missouri. The scene is not a dystopian film shoot: it illustrates the current state of the brand’s stocks. In the absence of space in its delivery centers, Tesla now rents external car parks – called Overflow lots – To store its vehicles awaiting buyer.
It is not a showroom, it is a shopping center car park – and there are more than one hundred Tesla, including cybertrucks.
Chesterfield, Farmington Hills, Reno, Miami… The examples have been multiplying in recent weeks. Worse still, some of these car parks were not even allowed for the storage of vehicles, which earned Tesla some reminders of municipal order. And in Michigan, more than 100 cybertrucks are sleeping in Indian line, additional proof of engorgement.
The storage of vehicles is not an authorized use here, recalled the city of Farmington Hills […] The processing process is engaged, but the town hall recognizes that it takes time. In the meantime, the Tesla pile up.
The problem is not only logistics. It is deeply economical. Despite record discounts, ultra-aggressive leasing offers and subsidized funding, Tesla does not flow enough. THE Model 3, yet renewed, sees his announcements swarming. As for the cybertruck, he gets bogged down: Their second-hand price has dropped drastically in the United States.
The forecast figures are final: between 350,000 and 360,000 deliveries expected in the second quarter, against 410,000 hopes. This would represent a fall of 80,000 units compared to last year, while the global electric vehicle market explodes.
The situation is all the more critical since Tesla sales collapse everywhere, including in Franceand that China, despite colossal efforts, remains below the volumes of the first quarter. Tesla therefore remains on the defensive, trapped by its own rate of production … and by a crumbling myth.
