Tesla: Sales are doing well in this neighboring country when they collapse everywhere

However, there are still territories where the automaker continues to win. It is especially the case in Norwaybut also in the United Kingdom for June 2025. Last month, 7,719 Tesla vehicles were sold.

The performance corresponds to the start of the restyled Y model deliveries. In short, this new product rhymes with a renewed interest from motorists. New Automotive, an independent design firm, has somewhat different figures, with growth of 12 % and 7,891 Tesla sold.

Why such differences? Data sources and calculation methods between the two research organizations are different. Despite this upturn for Tesla, the bar is far from being straightened in the United Kingdom.

The combined sales since January display a decline of 2 %. Competition intensifies with rivals in strong progression, like Bydmain competitor of Tesla, who quadrupled her sales for 2,498 electric vehicles. Ford also multiplied its volume by four.

The British Global automotive market increased by 6.7 % with 191,316 registered vehicles, the best month of June since 2019. Electric vehicles have benefited from this dynamic with a 39 % increase. These models now represent 25 % of total sales.

But this electrical growth is artificial according to Mike Hawes, Managing Director of SMMT: “This growth in electric vehicles is still carried by major industrial support. Manufacturers use all channels and discounts to stimulate activity, but this remains below mandated levels”

The leader highlights the importance of government incentives: “As we have seen in other countries, government incentives can overeat the market transition, otherwise the ambitions of climate change that we all share will be threatened.”
