The Instax Mini 41 finally corrects these two ugly defects in instant devices

Next to Its cameras at € 5,500 like the GFX100RF Recently presented, Fujifilm is also and above all the world champion of instant photo. As such, the Japanese now announces a new camera representing the entry level of its “mini” format: the Instax Mini 41.

Succeeding (very logically) in the instax mini 40, this “41” version takes up and improves the retro side of the machine. While the 40 was a black block with silver border (plastic, huh), the mini 41 is perhaps always plastic, but its design of monobloc appearance split between a similar part and a part (imitation) metal is of the most beautiful effect. Fujifilm's press release likes to highlight the appearance of the mention “mini 40” in orange … a matter of taste.

A story of parallax

In terms of framing, the device benefits from the parallax correction of the Instax Mini 12. This greatly improves the centering of the subjects captured in close -up. A very important improvement for a device capable of capturing the subjects from 30 cm, which activates by turning the ring of the lens barrel in the close -up position.

The fair exhibition

The other improvement is a new light measurement cell. Even more critical in our view, since many are the silver instax to be overexposed (especially when the flash activates), or underpay in situations of light too powerful/not strong enough. Called “Automatic light adjustment” (Automatic Light Adjustment), this function is simply a good measure of light. And the instax world needs it!
