The new Citroën C5 Aircross reveals its decreasing prices and those of its unpublished electric version

In a car market which reserves an increasingly fine group of the population, Citroën has chosen to adapt its positioning in order to contain the increase in the price of its cars. The brand even went so far as to lower the price of new generations of its C3 And C3 Aircross as well as that of his C4 restyledcompared to the models they have replaced.

This is also now worth for the second generation of the Compact C5 Aircross SUV, presented in April. Citroën had announced a basic price under the € 35,000 and the promise is held, with a range that starts precisely at € 34,990. The first deliveries will take place in the fall.

The fact remains that this new price today makes C5 Aircross one of the most accessible compact SUVs, even though its 4.65 m long (+ 15 cm compared to the previous generation) place it among the most imposing models in the category.

His cousins Peugeot 3008 And Opel Grandland are for example sold from € 40,200 and € 38,990 respectively. However, like Dacia, the new aggressive tariff policy of Citroën makes negotiations much more difficult, while Peugeot and Opel offer discounts on their respective compact SUV.

At this price, the new ARICROSS C5 is sold in entry -level you, which still includes progressive hydraulic stop suspensions, the large 13 -inch touch screen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay without wireless, bizone automatic air conditioning, or adaptive cruise control. The other novelty of this second generation of Citroën C5 Aircross, not the least, is the arrival of a 100 % electric declination Ë-C5 Aircross. It takes up the NMC battery of 73.7 kWh useful and the front engine of 157 kW (210 hp) of the entry-level version of the Peugeot E-3008, in particular, for a 520 km WLTP range.

The ARICROSS Ë-C5 is also cheaper than a Tesla Model Y, but only at the entry level. A Model y Propulsion is indeed billed at € 44,990 for 500 km of autonomy, but with performance and standard equipment significantly higher than those of the Aircross Ë-C5.
