The Trump administration’s messaging has been hacked, another scandal for cybersecurity in the United States
Telemessage is also a signal -based application. Last week was revealed that Mike Waltz, a former US national security advisor, used messaging to archive his messages. Among other senior government officials in archived conversations: Vice-President JD Vance, Marco Rubio or Tulsi Gabbard.
A messaging hacked in 15 to 20 minutes
The pirate, who wishes to remain anonymous, has accessed these conversations exchanged but not to specific exchanges of Mike Waltz. However, the fault shows that telemessage archiving is not protected by end -to -end encryption when the opposite could have thought of a solution used by the Trump administration.
The pirate also accessed the contact details of managers of the Trump administration, connection identifiers for Telemessage and information on the American Customs and Front Protection Agency (CBP). Other companies that use messaging have been affected like Coinbase and Scotiabank.
In the columns of 404 mediathe pirate explains that his manipulation has “Taken that about 15 to 20 minutes” and that “The required effort was minimal”. Telemessage told Reuters that she “investigated a potential security incident” and suspended her services “by excess of prudence”.
Remember that a few weeks ago the scandal took place “Signalgate”. A journalist was invited, by mistake, in a signal discussion with several senior US officials, such as vice-president JD Vance, who discussed sensitive military operations.
Before the Trump administration, government officials did not use consumer applications for sensitive communications but passed through dedicated secure facilities and fully encrypted internal communication channels.
