The abduction attempt took place in Paris on Tuesday May 13, in the middle of the day. Men flew from a white van stamped Chronopost tried to kidnap a 34 -year -old woman, daughter of an important player in the cryptocurrency market. France 24 explains that the victim’s husband intervened and suffered a fracture of the skull from the attackers.
The cryptocurrencies are traceable
During the attack, the woman resisted long enough to allow Nabil, owner of a nearby bicycle store, to help her. The man used a fire extinguisher to scare away the attackers, to the point of launching it on their van during a precipitated leak.
Many kidnappings take place in Europe in the world of cryptocurrencies. Still in Paris, the special forces intervened to release the father of an entrepreneur who was amputated with a finger as a threat to demand a ransom.
Faced with this situation, the wealthy of cryptocurrency give a good sense of common sense to the kidnappers: cryptocurrencies are traceable, contrary to what most people think. Jonathan Levin, leader of Chainalysis, recalled it during a conference: “For any reason, there is a perception that the crypto is an intraçable active, which really lends itself to certain criminal behaviors.”
According to Reutersthe Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, announced his intention to “Meet French cryptocurrency French entrepreneurs to make them aware of the risks and take measures to protect them”.
