As a reminder, the Fang Cheng Bao catalog consists of four models spread over two ranges. We find the all-terrain oriented Bao range with the Bao 5 and Bao 8 and the Tai series designed for families with the Tai 3 and Tai 7.
Fang Cheng Bao exceeds expectations as September results are promising. The subsidiary sold 24,121 electric vehicles during this month, above the symbolic bar of 20,000 units and an explosion of 344.87% compared to 2024. Over the first nine months of the year, the total is 115,312 vehicles, an increase of 279.03% over one year.
The Bao 5 was purchased by 5,425 people in September, an increase of 0.06% year-on-year. As for the Bao 8, deliveries of which began in November 2024, we are talking about 1,666 sales, a decline of 9.95% compared to August. Fang Cheng Bao’s real flagships are the Tai 3 and Tai 7 with 8,902 and 8,128 copies sold respectively last September.
As a reminder, the first version of the Bao 5 was launched on November 9, 2023 as the first electric vehicle from the Fang Cheng Bao subsidiary. On February 21, the Smart Driving Edition version was released with a price between €30,500 and €41,900. The standard configuration of the electric SUV has a 31.8 kWh battery and an 83-liter fuel tank. The electric range according to the Chinese CLTC cycle is 125 km. If we combine gasoline and electricity, it is beyond 1,200 km.
What’s new for the Bao 5 and Bao 8?
The new version of the Bao 5 with extended autonomy will integrate a more generous battery pack to reach 200 km in electric mode according to the CLTC standard. More and more customers want to break away from dependence on fossil fuels during their daily travels.
As for the Bao 8, the electric SUV was launched on November 12, 2024 and it is the second model from the Fang Cheng Bao subsidiary. There is also a driver assistance system designed by Huawei, another major Chinese company.
