These infrared lenses allow you to see in the dark, even with closed eyes
Human is unable to see the infrared light with a naked eye. To remedy this, a Chinese scientific team AA developed contact lenses like no other. With these, it may be possible to see in the dark.
Revolutionary infrared lenses
These transparent lenses use promised nanoparticles as non -invasive and non -toxic. They allow you to do without a power source and take advantage of the nearby infrared vision (between 800 and 1600 Nm) and the classic vision at the same time. The perception of infrared light would however be better when the subject closes the eyes, the study indicates.
It was initially carried out on mice. Those equipped with lenses have always preferred, when the choice was given to them, to go to an empty box rather than in an illuminated infrared box. Physical results in pupils and brain have also been observed.
What uses for such technology?
For humans, the testers have been able to detect infrared Morse code, as well as its management. What immediately imagine applications of such a military technology or for the spying environment.
In addition, a modification of lenses, by combining a color code with different infrared wavelengths, makes it possible to distinguish different colors. Something to add details and even help daltonian people to see colors that they usually see.

A pair of glasses using the same principle, and allowing to obtain a clearer image, has also been developed. For the moment lenses can only detect infrared light only from a LED source, but scientists are working to improve their sensitivity.
