The summer season is coming to an end, and with it arrives the fall, sometimes violent showers. This Wednesday, several departments were placed on alert thunderstorms and floods: Eure-et-Loir, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret, Cher, Yonne, Nièvre, Vosges, Haute-Saône, Doubs, the territory of Belfort and Haut-Rhin. A good part of the rest of the France weather card is colored in yellow alert.

This is a classic phenomenon in this season. After months of heat, dry soils are struggling to absorb water, causing streams, infiltration and water damage. But if the water can be invited by the roofs and the streets, it is also a source of damage when it escapes discreetly inside for other reasons: leak behind a washing machine, infiltration near a water heater, pipe that yields, etc.

It is in all these cases that technology can help us reminds us of X-Sense, that we already know for its connected smoke detectors. The brand offers an intelligent water detector under the SWS51 reference. Used independently it alerts as a smoke detector by issuing an alarm of 110 dB to prevent occupants.

The option becomes even more interesting when the SWS51 is associated with the SBS50 base station. As soon as a leak is spotted, an alarm of 110 dB is triggered both on the sensor and on the station, while a notification is sent to smartphone. This sensor is based on a double detection technology: two upper and four lower probes capable of identifying both a drop falling from above as an emerging puddle from 0.4 mm deep.

Pototable via a dedicated application, the system gives access to the history, the adjustment of the volume of the alarm, the temporary pause of alerts or even low battery notifications. Its waterproof design (IP66) allows it to resist permanently in wetlands such as a cellar, a laundry room or under a sink. The app also makes it possible to share alerts with 12 family members.
