Trump targets “woke” AIs and refuses to be used under his presidency

According to the Wall Street Journalthe administration is preparing several executive orders, one of which requires government agencies to use only AI “politically neutral”. As a reminder, a republican senator recently asked for the opening of an investigation about Chatbots tried as refractory to Donald Trump.

No “wokes” in government agencies

AI answers on political and social issues are a major point of friction for conservatives. According to them, many chatbots are too oriented on the left, hence the fact that Grok presents himself as politically neutral but does not hesitate to slip making anti -Semitic remarks.

David Sacks, head of AI at the White House, and Sriram Krishnan, senior advisor for AI policies, lead the initiative. The first previously criticized Openai because, according to him, Chatgpt is politically biased.

“One of the concerns about Chatgpt is that it is programmed to be WOKE and that it does not give people truthful answers on many things”he declared in 2023. “Censorship is integrated into these responses.”

David Sacks has had close links with Elon Musk since their collaboration at Paypal. Elon Musk’s XAI company is at the origin of Grok who, as explained previously, presents himself as an alternative “Anti-Woke”.

A proximity that could benefit the company in the race for government contracts despite the current tensions between its manager and Donald Trump.

Companies like Openai, Google, Anthropic and Xai do everything to win strategic government contracts. Grok’s political alignment gives it one step ahead of the competition.
