A bag-building game with many challengesOrléans Stories is based on the known Bag-Building mechanism in Orleans. This developed to become a narrative experience in which players are going through different eras and are faced with different challenges.

In Orléans Stories, players no longer focus only on the city of Orleans and trade with the surrounding villages, but now settle in the Loire valley.
Players will have to cultivate and produce, found villages and build fortresses and churches. They will experience periods of prosperity and success, but also periods of deprivation. They will have to challenge hunger and plague, fight for their land and perhaps conquer foreign lands to protect the lives of their settlers.

Different rules for each story the game includes two stories:

The first empire
This epic story extends over eight eras. Each era presents a different situation. For example, set out to conquer foreign territories with the help of powerful knights or develop medicine in order to fight against the plague that threatens to decimate the colonists.
The favor of the king
Shorter, this story is simpler and more appropriate as an introduction to the game. Extending in five eras, you will have to perform many tasks, some of which will have to be accomplished before the end of each era. Those who will not succeed, will be abandoned. This threat of having to finish the game prematurely provides a constant thrill. The tasks will also be compared in the king’s castle, where victory points will be allocated to the players based on their achievements.

The different times affect the parameters and rules of the game, thus creating new strategic possibilities. This forces players to adapt constantly to the new conditions of the game.
The time changes require a new way of seeing things. The gaming experience is facilitated thanks to the history booklet in which players will not only find all the relevant information and the peculiarities of the rules, but also of the advice to prepare for the next game in the form of a narrated story.
