Want to touch up your photos like a pro? The Photoshop Mobile Beta on Android is available for free
While the iOS version of Photoshop Mobile went to the final version last February, Adobe today announces the availability of the beta application for Android terminals.
Using the enormous interface and ergonomics work of the iOS version, “this Android version has been completely rewritten”, explains Shambhavi Kadam, in charge of mobile photoshop at Adobe.
In his demonstration to the press, Adobe emphasized the work done. “Operations such as layers management, masking, or selection of objects are complex operations. The challenge was to make them easy to use,” said Shambhavi Kadam.
An official who highlighted a flagship asset of this mobile version for creatives. “Thanks to synchronization with the cloud, you can work transparently on the same file, whether from your Android computer or smartphone,” she has excited.
Unimportant at first for audiences (young people, neophytes, etc.) who discover the application, it is however a mass argument for long -standing users of Adobe products.
Local AI and cloud
No ad in 2025 without AI. On the local side, it is therefore tools such as intelligent selection that facilitate manipulation operations in tactile use. On the cloud side, it is obviously the generative AI that invite themselves in Adobe’s speech.
With obviously the native integration of Firefly in the Photoshop Mobile interface for Android. An AI which the giant software continued to hammer that it was “commercially safe” – you can read our article on the subject.
Free beta version, upcoming subscription
As for her twin sister designed for iOS, the beta version of Android Mobile Photoshop is launched in full version without clamping. Understand that all of its functions are currently free.
Once this period of beta (test version, editor’s note) has passed, the passage in normal version will lock certain functions and certain uses. Normal users can be satisfied with the tools that will remain free. The biggest users will be able to subscribe to a ‘Photoshop mobile & web’ subscription. If Adobe maintains its current iOS rates, it will take € 8.99 per month or € 79.99 per year.
As for subscribers to Creative Cloud offers, premium functions will be included in the general subscription without additional cost.
The Android version of Photoshop is already available in the Google Play Store.
