
Warner changes (again) of reviews and modifies the name of its max platform

A step forward, two steps back … It almost seems to be the motto of Warner Bros. Discovery about his Svod service, whose name will once again change. Max will come back to its origins during the summer and will be reborn under the name HBO Max, titled that the platform had at its birth in 2020.

The president of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, announced the news at a conference that took place in New York on May 14, barely two months after Max has unveiled a new logo with a look already very close to the HBO brand.
“The strong growth we have seen on our global streaming service is based on the quality of our programming,” he said. “Today, we bring back HBO, the brand that represents the highest quality in media, in order to further accelerate this growth in the years to come.”
The company added that again identifying HBO in the brand of the streaming platform makes it possible to better reflect what subscribers can expect from the supply of this service.

“This decision was influenced by the evolution of consumer needs, and by the fact that no consumer today says he wants more content, but that most of them say they want better quality content”said an official press release before sending a spade to Netflix ::
“While other services meet the needs of consumers with volume, Warner Bros. Discovery clearly distinguished itself by its quality and its distinct stories, and no brand has done this better and with more consistency for more than 50 years than HBO.”
The idea is therefore to return to the name HBO Max to allow entertainment followers to better identify the Warner Bros. streaming platform. by associating it above all with the content made in HBO, as Game of Thrones,, The Last of Us and company.
The return of a strong brand
The HBO journey to streaming has gone through many iterations over the years. First there was the service of Svod HBO now, then replaced by a streaming platform called HBO Go. Then came HBO Max, then renamed Maxand here we are back on the name HBO Max. Enough to make subscribers dizzy and the desire to laugh at company employees.
“The good news is that I have a drawer full of office supplies dating from the last time,” Hoked Casey Bloys, the owner of HBO and Max, in front of the advertisers.
Warner also praised the growth of its streaming activity, stressing that the division had improved its profitability by almost $ 3 billion in two years and earned 22 million subscribers in the past year. According to them, the streaming service is on the right track to reach more than 150 million subscribers by the end of 2026.
