We finally know when Xiaomi electric cars will arrive in Europe

Since its launch, Xiaomi Auto has never hidden its intentions to offer its international electric cars. The brand had already announced at the start of the year that this expansion would start in 2027while Xiaomi Auto consolidates for the moment its meteoric growth on its domestic market which allows it to approach profitability.

Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi, has now just announced during a conference on the results of the company that Xiaomi Auto would begin its international expansion in 2027 with the European market. He also explained that the brand was already in the research and preparation phase for the future marketing of its electric cars in Europe.
Competitive cars in China, but imposing for European roads
For the moment, Xiaomi Auto has two models, the sedan SU7 and the SUV Yu7. If their tariffs in China are respectively comparable to those of Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, their length of about 5 m each place closer to the dimensions of Model S and Model X, that is to say particularly imposing cars for European roads.
It is still too early to specifically estimate the price of Xiaomi electric cars in Europe. Produced in China, they will have to pay significant European customs duties and it will be interesting to observe the positioning adopted by Xiaomi with us. Byd, for example, has made the choice to position itself in front of traditional generalist brands in Europe, without wanting to break the market, while other Chinese manufacturers are made a place by pulling the prices down.
