WhatsApp: Soon on iPad with a bonus multimedia hub

Almost every week goes from its small rumor or a minor novelty for the very popular instant messaging service WhatsApp. But at the end of May 2025, two major innovations are looming for the Meta application. None of the two has been formalized by the firm, but many signs indicate that it will not be long.
Whatsapp on iPad, finally?
Already available on Android tablets, WhatsApp does not still enjoy, like Instagram elsewhere (which has been working there for a few months), of an official variation on iPad. But this lack in the Apple ecosystem could well be of ancient history soon.
It is quite simply via the post above that the firm confirmed in half-word (or half emoji) that an iPad version was on the way. For the date, however, it will be necessary to go back. The use of a messaging service account on several devices being now simplified and iOS recently authorized to define WhatsApp as default messaging, such a news has meaning.
Soon a hub to easily find content
The other novelty this time concerns the web version of WhatsApp, at least at first. According to Wabetainfo’s discoveries (which also confirms the arrival of an iPad version in Testflight), Meta works on a multimedia hub. This would bring together, via an icon dedicated in the sidebar, all the shared content (images, videos, links, documents, GIF …) through conversations to facilitate access and rediscovery.
A version for the mobile version of WhatsApp would also be under construction, but only to find the shared content within a group of community chat. It remains to be seen if in the future the mobile version will equal the one on the web.
The functionality was not yet available in testing, it will probably be necessary to be patient before its deployment. This should also display the file size to help the user to clean up, while sorting options and a search engine will be there to help find an element. For documents and links, the name of the contact which shared it will also be indicated, as well as the date.
