Why the iPhone 17 appears (for now) as the best choice to make

Four iPhone are official, including three iPhone 17s and one iPhone airWho, if he replaces an iPhone 17 Plus that will never come out, evolves in parallel with the new Apple range. All of these aircraft are posted in the high -end segment, or rather premium, and invites those who wish to equip or renew their old terminal to ask the question of the best choice. Characteristics borrowed from iPhone Pro

The iPhone 17 has for him characteristics borrowed from iPhone Pro. Let us add that the iPhone 17 promises good readability, even in full sun, since it announces a maximum brightness of 3,000 cd/m², also borrowed from the iPhone 17 pro.

The lightness option

This is an element that we sometimes forget to check before the purchase, although it weighs for many on the user experience. If this year, the iPhone Air wins the palm of lightness with its 165 g, the iPhone 17 has the merit of being barely heavier, with its 177 g. It takes 7 g compared to the iPhone 16, while sporting a 6.3 -inch agreed screen (instead of 6.1 inches). Users in search of a smartphone offering an advantageous features/weight ratio could therefore have any interest in turning to the iPhone 17, which weighs 29 g less than its iPhone 17 pro counterpart, in similar format. Needless to say, for a few additional grams, the iPhone 17 takes advantage of options absent from the Air model: two photo modules, a battery with increased capacity and a SIM card cart. Unlike the iPhone Air, 100 % ESIM, it can accommodate a physical nano-SIM.

An efficiency design

The iPhone Air mixes glass and titanium, while the iPhone 17 Pro opt for a shell unibody aluminum. The first fact fear of heating, finesse requires, and this risk also weighs on the latter – it is not for nothing that Apple opted for a new cooling system and for this material. The iPhone 17 is more conservative: it looks very much like the very effective iPhone 16, with its glass back and its double photo module, and its A19 chip (probably less powerful than the A19 Pro of the other three models) is more than sufficient for the vast majority of uses. It is also the smartphone with the most varied colors (there are sage green, blue and lavender), which can suit everyone.

Let’s not forget the price

If the iPhone 17 is a good option, it is finally (and perhaps above all) for its price. There remains a premium smartphone, so expensive, but it is labeled at € 969, that is to say a price not maintained, but revised down if it is compared to that of the iPhone 16 with equivalent storage. The 2024 smartphone cost € 969, but with 128 GB of storage, and the iPhone 17 is billed at the same price, with 256 GB of internal space. For equivalent storage, the iPhone 16 required paying € 1,099. The model 17 is also well below the price of the iPhone Air (€ 1,229 in 256 GB), the iPhone 17 pro (€ 1,329 in 256 GB) and the iPhone 17 Pro Max (€ 1,479 in 256 GB too).
