
Wicked 2: a magical trailer for the rest of the musical blockbuster

Fans of musicals will once again be transported to the Pays d’Oz on November 19 for the second part of the film Wicked of Jon M. CHU With Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The epic conclusion of the history of Glinda and Elphaba is also revealed through a first magic trailer.
A suite that promises to be grandiose
Entitled Wicked: Part II (Wicked: for good In VO, in reference to one of the flagship songs of the musical that inspires it), this suite and end of the story around the friendship between the wicked witch of the West and the nice northern witch will see Elphaba (Erivo) try to bring down the magician (Jeff Goldblum) while Prince Fiyreo (Jonathan Bailey) is pursuing and Glinda (Grande) Torn between her loyalty to Oz and his dear friend.
The two parts of Wicked are adapted from the musical of the same name which is a dazzling success on the boards since 2009, having attracted more than 65 million people between Broadway and the West End London.

In the cinema, the first film generated $ 756.1 million in box office Around the world for a 150 million budget, becoming the adapted film of a most profitable musical in history. Wicked also won two Oscars This year for its sets and costumes.
Note that the first part of Wicked adapted the first act of the musical and takes place before the events of Magician of Ozwhile this second film is based on act 2 and takes us to the history of Dorothy (which we can also see in this trailer).
All to come back to this classic of children’s literature written by Lyman Frank Baum in 1900 from the point of view of the wicked witch (the musical Wicked is based on a novel by Gregory Maguire).

If Wicked: Part II Promises to highlight flagship songs from the musical, including “No Good Deed” and “For Good”, the film will also allow fans to discover two unpublished titles composed by Stephen Schwartz, already behind the music and words of the original musical.
“These are two fabulous additions in this film. These songs were necessary to help us tell this story,” said director Jon M. Chu to Vanity Fair.
Wicked: Part II is to be seen in the cinema on November 19 but by then, you can (re) see the first opus in streaming On Canal+ and MyCanal from June 27.
