This component conflicts with the new system layers of Windows 11 24h2. Result: BSOD (blue screens of death), restarts in loop and in some cases, loss of data.

Faced with the severity of the problem, Microsoft has activated what he calls a “Safeguard Hold” : A barrier that prevents updating from downloading on the machines with the problematic pilot. A gesture of prudence greeted, but which does not help those who have installed the update manually via ISO or assistance tools.

In its official documentation, Microsoft recognizes the problem and indicates working hand in hand with Senseshield to correct it. No immediate solution is available. No fix, no emergency cumulative update for the moment. And above all: no official method to deactivate properly sprotect.sys without jeopardizing other system features.

In the meantime, the only parade consists in returning to the previous version of Windows 11, provided that you have not exceeded ten days post-date allowing backwards via the settings> System> Recovery. Another more radical method implies uninstalling the update from the recovery environment (Winre) or, in extreme cases, to completely reinstall the system.

As long as Microsoft has not delivered a correction, we will advise you not to force your hand to Windows Update. Caution is a mother of security.
