No need to restart a Windows 11 PC after a business update

Since June 23, new quality update policies implemented by administrators via Windows Autopatch will use the Hotpatch system introduced by default last May.

Translation: Autopatch is a Microsoft cloud service to automate updates to different firm services (Microsoft 365, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Teams and Windows) via customizable deployment policies. Hotpatch allows you to apply updates without requiring to restart your computer afterwards.

Clearly, no need to lose precious minutes to wait for the restart of your machine after applying a patch. What increase security without sacrificing productivity, and vice versa.

For the policies implemented before this default Hotpatch application, IT and System administrators can go to Microsoft intune settings to adjust it. Direction Devices> Windows Updates> Quality Updates. After having selected the policy to modify, it only remains to choose “When available, Apply within Restarting the Device (” Hotpatch “)” in the “Automatic Update Deployment” section.
