Windows 11: The 25H2 version is now official, what are the new features?

Microsoft has formalized The upcoming outing of Windows 11 25:2h In a blog post for IT professionals. This new version, planned for the fall, will be technically identical to the 24h2 currently being deployed. The difference? It will simply be activated via a small software trigger, called EKB. Result: no break, total compatibility … and an almost invisible change of version.

Windows 11 25:2 am, it’s official: a discreet but strategic update

Microsoft has decided: Windows 11 25h2 will be the next major version of the systemwith a deployment planned in the fall of 2025. Officially announced via the Microsoft IT Pro blog, it will not impose heavy download or complete migration. For what ? Because everything is already there.

The new features are already in your PC, preloaded during the monthly updates of Windows 11 24h2. The only missing element: theEnable Package (EKB), this little trigger that activates the rocking around 25:2 hours. Clearly: a restart, and the new functions are opening – provided you are already on 24:2.

Here is what 25h2 active concretely:

• Passkeys native support 1Passwordallowing authentication without password directly from the third -party manager;
• Improvements in the execution of localized AI models, optimized for New Copilot+ PCs (with Npu);
• A revision of Windows Copilot, better integrated, now accessible in certain system areas (and no longer as a simple floating window);
• The arrival of a new energy saving mode, more aggressive and better calibrated, designed for mobile or hybrid devices;
• Changes in accessibility, in particular an improvement in vocal return, more fluid and compatible with more applications;
• A refined management of dynamic updates (Dynamic Updates) for Windows Autopatch, facilitating business deployments.

Behind the technical aspect – a simple EKB file – is therefore an important functional rocking. Especially since 25h2 also restart the support cycle:

• 36 months for Enterprise, Education, IoT;
• 24 months for pro, family, workstation.

Finally, Microsoft confirms that 25h2 remains based on the same base as 24 hours2, which guarantees total software compatibility and drastically limits the tests on the IT side. This choice is part of the shared servicing model, where each semi-annual update activates simply a subset of functions already present.
