Windows 11: the screenshot tool soon more practical with this welcome novelty

There End of Windows 10 support is fast approaching. Microsoft is therefore very actively at work on improving Windows 11 to encourage users to migrate. This involves improvement of central elements, such as the Start menubut also many applications integrated into the operating system.

Today, a tool that is already improved recently will know another small revolution, namely the screenshot (or snipping tool in English).

As with the latest news in recent weeks, namely the possibility of extracting text or a color or even taking perfect captures, the news of the day unveiled by Microsoft for the screenshot tool will not arrive with the general public that later. For the moment, only Windows Insiders testers in the Canary and Dev canals can try it.

This novelty in version 11,2505.21.0 should appeal to gif lovers, since it allows you to create this type of animated image directly from Windows 11.

Note that to be able to take advantage of it, you will have to be in the screen recording mode in the application. This can be opened directly with the Windows + Shift + R keyboard shortcut.

Once the recording is completed, a new GIF button is then offered in the toolbar at the top of the preview window.

Finally, another window offers to choose between low or high quality for export. Low makes it possible to limit the size of the file to simplify its export and copy, while high allows a cleaner image, but also heavier. The duration (limited to 30 seconds, beyond it will be a classic video capture), the size and frequency of image of the GIF are also displayed.

It remains to be seen when this feature, therefore direct integration within Windows 11 should greatly simplify the creation of GIF, will arrive with the general public, and if it will evolve according to the returns of the testers.
