Would Netflix already abandon the video game? These titles are already leaving its catalog

In October 2024, Netflix brutally closed Team Blueits internal AAA game development studio revealed in 2022. A first bad sign for the video game activity of the streaming service.

At the end of June 2025, and after having also eliminated a majority of its interactive content, another decision of the platform comes to blow a seriousness of doubt about the will to Netflix to continue the adventure beyond films and series. Indeed, many games will soon disappear from its catalog.

• Raji: An Ancient Epic
• Spongebob: Bubble Pop Fun
• Ted Tumblewords
• The Case of the Golden Idol
• The Rise of the Golden Idol
• Vineyard Valley

Solid titles like Hades,, Braid,, Valley monument or The Case of the Golden Idol are therefore concerned despite their popularity. Note that certain titles, such as the last city and its suite, are exclusive to Netflix on mobile terminals. This deletion will therefore force their developers to quickly find withdrawal solutions to be able to continue to exist on smartphones and tablets.

Towards the end of video games on Netflix?

It remains to be seen whether this decision hides something radical, or only a rationalization of its efforts, as they say in the environment. This is not the first time that Netflix has cut games from its catalog, even if it has never been done on this scale.

A strategy similar to that of Microsoft’s game pass by regularly replacing games with others to master its costs and generating subscriptions is also very possible. Like films and series not produced by Netflix, a bearing is to be expected. In addition, the platform seems to want to emphasize new games from its own licenses.

Remember that Netflix video games, after an exclusivity period on smartphones and tablets, are now accessible on PC via web browser. It would be surprising that Netflix abandoned this form of entertainment source of use all after having invested so much.
