Xbox Ally: Microsoft’s portable console is official, will it succeed in shaking the steam deck?

Two models, the same philosophy: play without barrier
The two versions – Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X – share the same DNA. We find Windows 11, a 7 -inch Full HD 120 Hz screen, controls inspired by the Xbox controller, and above all, direct access to the Xbox, Steam, Epic, Battle.net and Company universe. Clearly, no catalog limitation: everything you have on PC, you also have it here.
The Xbox Ally aims for a large audience with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD. It relies on a good balance between performance, autonomy and price. For its part, the Ally X pushes the sliders further: Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD, 80 Wh battery and even pulse triggers. A model designed for demanding players who do not want to sacrifice anything, even in mobility.

The Xbox experience, but in your backpack
The heart of these consoles is their interface. An Xbox mode in full screen from startup, a revisited game bar for portable use, unified access to all your game libraries – Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, etc. The interface was refined to meet the constraints of the nomad game: simplified controls, controller navigation, direct control over performance, temperature, entries.
Add to that Xbox Cloud Gaming, Remote Play and Play AnyWhere compatibility, and you get a fluid ecosystem. A game bought once can be launched on console, PC, or Ally, with your backups and success that follows you.
When they launch “At the end of the year”Xbox Ally will be available in France and in more than 30 countries. Prices, precise output dates, accessories and pre -orders will be revealed in the coming weeks. But one thing is certain: Clear obscure: Expedition 33,, Gears of War: Reloaded Or South of Midnight will no longer need to wait until you are in front of your TV.
