XGIMI MOGO 4: Has the best mini-projector on the market arrived?
Xgimi continues to work on his portable video projectors with the arrival of Mogo 4, direct successor of the Mogo 3 Pro that we tested and that we particularly liked. If the formula remains significantly the same – compact design, Google TV interface and full HD image – we were able to see this new model during a trip to China in Xgimi districts, which corrects several weak points of the previous version to offer a more autonomous, more practical, more pleasant and more pleasant device.
Two versions now offered
Xgimi made the bet to put on the market not one but two MOGO 4, one equipped with the same LED light source of 450 lumens ISO, the other with a brighter sorting source (announced at 550 Lumens ISO), more contrasted and covering the different colorimetric spaces in a much more effective way. The rest is identical with a wobulation system which simulates a Full HD definition from a 540p chip.
The design is always elegant and a real HDMI port is now there.
We also find the ISA 2.0 technology, which ensures the focus and correction of the automatic trapeze which are so practical on a daily basis for the installation of the video projector. The recommended diagonal remains between 60 and 120 inches for optimal comfort.
Like the MOGO 3 PRO, this new model runs under Google TV, with Netflix native – a point that was lacking on the first MOGO – and the main streaming platforms are there.
A reworked design, corrected defects and an integrated battery!
Another good surprise, the connection improves: the MOGO 4 abandons the micro-HDMI for a standard HDMI port, much more practical to connect a PC, a console or a multimedia player. There is also a USB-A port on the side, and a USB-C port for food.
The MOGO 4 benefits from an additional mini remote control.
Xgimi also promises a slightly better sound thanks to a repositioning of the speakers that go from 5 to 6 W. We can always use it as a small portable speaker and Xgimi added colorful LEDs at the base for a slightly more disco atmosphere if you were taking you, although it is a bit of the gadget.
Finally, the good surprise comes from the integration of a battery in Mogo, excellent news since it was absent from Mogo 3 and only the Halo+ was equipped so far. We will have to check the autonomy during our test, but it is announced at 2:30 am by the manufacturer.
Two versions and two prices
The XGIMI MOGO 4 (LED) will be marketed at € 600, an increase of € 100 compared to the MOGO 3 Pro which will always be available in parallel. The MOGO 4 LASER will be sold € 800, a significantly more substantial price which comes to place it at the level of the Halo+ which will therefore no doubt be marketed in the coming months.
The XGIMI MOGO 4 corrected most of the defects in its predecessor in any case and may well assert itself as the best PICO projector of the moment. See you soon for the full test!
