Xiaomi would prepare the field to unveil its next high -end smartphone a month earlier than usual. THE Xiaomi 15 was released in October; The 16 could therefore enter in September. This little accelerator in the calendar might not have to do anything at chance: it would indeed be the first smartphone to embark the brand new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, the future Qualcomm star chip.

Xiaomi 16: Launch from September, and an already promising technical sheet

If this leak is confirmed, Qualcomm would also be forced to anticipate its traditional Snapdragon Summit, usually organized in October. Clearly, Xiaomi would seek to cut the grass under the foot of the competition … and to position itself as the first to offer the most powerful Android processor from the end of 2025.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 promises a generational jump from the current : engraved in 3 nm, with Home’s Oryon hearts, it would reach up to 5 GHz frequency, and integrate an adreno boosted GPU for Ray Tracing and Unreal Engine 5.3. In terms of artificial intelligence, the NPU Hexagon would offer local generation capacities of text or images – just that.

The screen would also be up to the height: 6.85 -inch AMOLED LTPO slab, QHD+ resolution, adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compatibility. Enough to flatter both retino and demanding multimedia uses.

The Xiaomi 16 would also bet on autonomy with a 5,000 mAh battery and an ultra-fast 120 W recharge, without forgetting the wireless load. On the photo side, return from the Sony IMX989 main sensor of 50 MP, supported by an ultra-angle of 48 Mp and a periscopic telephoto with 10x optical zoom.

Add to this up to 24 GB of RAM LPDDR5X, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 compatibility, 5G Snapdragon X80 and Hyperos based on Android 15: we hold a stroke of running there, at least, if rumors are confirmed.

The Xiaomi 16 range, if it keeps the classic “standard + pro” duo, could also be followed very closely by an ultra later version – as was the case with the Xiaomi 15 Ultralaunched in early 2025. But for the time being, the challenge is to see if this anticipated launch strategy will allow Xiaomi to hit hard.
