Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen): the 4K alternative under Google TV is finally a facelift
With aging connected televisions, the interface often gains in slowness, thus considerably impacting the user experience. The manufacturer has just announced a new model: TV Box S (3rd Gen).

After a successful TV Box S (2nd Gen) in 2023, Xiaomi went to the third generation at the start of 2025. On its official websitethe Chinese brand displays TV Box S (3rd Gen), which suggests an imminent international launch, especially in Europe.
Like the previous version, the multimedia box offers a 4K display at 60 frames per second, with support for the Dolby Vision and HDR10+. On the audio side, Dolby Atmos and DTS: X (against the DTS-HD on the second generation) are supported. The audio output is no longer there, however, forcing to go through HDMI or Bluetooth for sound.
The big change concerns power, with improved performance of 25 % for the processor and 130 % for the GPU compared to the configuration of the TV box S (2nd Gen). We are then entitled to the same amount of RAM as before, 2 GB, and much more storage, 32 GB instead of 8 GB.
Finally, the TV Box S (3rd Gen) is a little wider than its predecessor, and retains a connectivity with an HDMI 2.1 and USB-2.0 port as well as its 360 ° remote control.
No price has been announced at the moment, thus suggesting a placement similar to that of the previous model, sold € 69.99 in France.
