Xperia 10 VII: Sony renews the design and screen of its affordable smartphone

Certainly discreet on the telephony market, where it has launched only one product since the beginning of 2025 – the very premium Xperia 1 VII– Sony today formalizes a second smartphone stamped VII. Much more affordable than the 1 VIIthe Xperia 10 VII displays a partly modernized design.

Sony retains a characteristic of Xperia 10 VI : its OLED FULL HD+ screen of 6.1 inch, but with a refreshment rate rising up to 120 Hz (against only 60 Hz on the Xperia 10 VI). However, it presents a new ratio: farewell to 21: 9, which resulted in a very stretched screen, 10 VII passes to a 19.5: 9 format much more conventional. Consequently, the latest addition to the Japanese is wider and lower than its elder: it measures 153 x 72 x 8.3 mm, against 155 x 68 x 8.3 mm. This case remains certified IP65/68, retains a featherweight (168 g), thanks in particular to the use of a chassis and a plastic back. It unveils a photo block with two modules now aligned horizontally, not vertically. The main one uses a 50 megapixel sensor (against 48 Mpx on 10 VI), with a Grand-Angle f/1.9 optics, while the second combines a 13 Mpx sensor (8 MPx on the 2024 model) and an ultra-angle optics (F/2.4).

A new design and the arrival of Circle To Search

These changes visible outside the smartphone are accompanied by a little hidden renewal inside. The Xperia 10 VII is animated by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, which succeeds the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, with the support of 8 GB of RAM. As always, Sony associates a storage space limited to 128 GB with a microSD card port, a characteristic that it has the good taste to keep over the generations of mobiles, just like the presence of a mini-jack socket. THE chipset Enjoy the smartphone its compatibility with the WiFi 6e, but also with the Bluetooth 5.4, and allows Sony to inaugurate the surround function to search (signed Google) on its device. Let us add that the Japanese brand teams its terminal with a 5000 mAh battery, but does not mention the load power it accepts. On the software side, finally, the smartphone makes its Android 15 debut, with the promise of 4 years of bone upgrades and 6 years of security fixes.

The Xperia 10 VII is today pre -order, for an expedition from September 19; A date loaded in the universe of the smartphone, since it is that chosen Apple to send its iPhone 17,, iPhone air,, iPhone 17 pro and iPhone 17 Pro Maxwhich do not play entirely in the same courtyard.
