This is the kind of sequence that could have been forgettable … if she had not affected Elon Musk. The most divisive man of tech broadcast a part of Path of Exile 2since a private flight, as part of a stability test for its Starlink connection. The idea? Show that you can play a demanding hack'n'slash with a satellite connection. The result? A bitter failure, both in the game as in the staging.
Elon Musk humiliated live on Path of Exile 2: Rafale insults and defeat against the rotten druid
For almost two hours, Musk remained almost silent, the air absent, screwed to the screen. However, he opted for the hardcore mode, the one where each death means the final end of the character. Bad bet: over the stream, deaths have been chained, each ended by the creation of a new avatar. The latest? A certain “Kekius Maximus”, pseudonym grandiloquent and mocking, straight from 4Chan folklore.
You ruined our country as you ruined your weddings!
But it was especially the stream cat that stole the show. From the first minutes, private messages flock: some praise it, others run spam, then frontal attack. References to his political problems, mockery on his private life, on Ubisoft's scathing response when they laughed themconspiracy delusions and even messages signed by an ex-partner in the midst of a legal battle for the care of their child. The atmosphere becomes toxic, irreversible. Spectators suggest that he deactivate messages, stop carnage, but Musk, faithful to his character, does not react.
The stream of almost 2 hours and broadcast on X, already accumulates 2.1 million views.
And then comes the fall. A disconnection, a badly placed blow, and Kekius Maximus falls, struggled … by an optional boss, Ervig, the rotten druid. Curtain. End of stream. The attempt to reconquer its digital image was finally dissolved in a poorly controlled latency and a wobbly staging. The Elon Musk “Gamer”, as he probably wanted to introduce himself, will have existed only for a jerky flow.
Beyond the pure anecdote, this episode sadly illustrates the vulnerability of an overly constructed narration. By dint of wanting to embody the visionary engineer, the space icon and the connected cultural figure simultaneously, Elon Musk escapes in an over-representation of himself. Even facing a simple tutorial boss, dissonance becomes obvious.
